USING BUTTONS OR IMAGES

One way to try to  avoid email harvesting is to use a button or image to disguise your email link. Unfortunately this is not foolproof and here are the drawbacks:

For example you might publish your email like this so that the user an send you an email by clicking an image of your email address thus: (the link is a dummy for demonstration purpose)

Your page's HTML code would look like this:

Spam robots will trawl your pages for signs of email addresses

The code in yellow is a dead giveaway and says:

"Hey Spammers come here and send me lots of junk and then use my address to send junk to other people including my friends, business associates and customers. I would also like my web domain to be blacklisted as a source of junk mail. I really don't mind all these people being annoyed with me- Honest!"

The same drawback applies to using buttons if the mail link code is on your page so the best way to avoid being hijacked is to use:
